Pete Orpin ( Director Myhealthyherd) presented some practical advice on Johne’s control to over 200 farmers, vets and advisors in Qingdao in October.

Johne’s disease is of international interest and with the advent of over 42 herds over 5000 cows in China practical risk management and JD controls are essential to keep herds healthy and profitable.

Over 100,000 cattle are imported a year into the burgeoning Chinese Dairy industry and Peter visited one of the larger farms in the region which currently housed over 20,000 cattle and seeking to expand further. Over 500 staff were employed on the farm.
