Last week, Dick and Peter spoke at the NFU conference on how the novel Myhealthyherd predict and prevent model could be used to help farmers and vets make the right decisions regarding bovine TB control.

The disease is complex with cattle to cattle, badger and other wildlife to cattle transmission. Once a herd becomes infected the disease causes considerable hardship for the farmer and in larger herds the disease is difficult to remove without extensive repeated testing. Keeping the disease out would seem to be a logical route!

A summary of the event, along with a full list of speakers, can be found on the NFU website.  From this page, you are also able to download some of the presentations delivered on the day, including the one given by Pete and Dick: Managing bTB risks at the farm level – challenges and opportunities, preventing and controlling bTB is not just black and white.
