The 2016 Cream Awards saw 450 guests, including UK dairy producers, vets, feed merchants, food processors and retailers, gather together to celebrate excellence and innovation throughout the UK dairy industry.

And Pete Orpin was awarded the accolade of Dairy Vet of the Year!

The judges said that:

“Peter Orpin stands out as the kind of vet that the industry should be proud of.  A vet whose dedication to the task at hand sees him go beyond that of the every day.  Ever innovating, ever planning a new line of attack in the pursuit of health & welfare of knowledge transfer and pushing the boundaries of healthcare.  A highly influential vet that many can look to emulate.”

Upon accepting the award, Pete stated:

‘it’s a combination of benchmarking, education and teamwork that can help deliver results to customers and the wider dairy industry’.

Pete has focused the inputs of the practice on preventive medicine approaches, with Myhealthyherd playing a key role, especially when it comes to assessing the risk of disease spread between and within cattle herds.
