Myhealthyherd Health Planner Updated to Include NJMP

Current proposals are for the National Johne’s Management Plan (NJMP) to form part of the annual health and performance review from 31 October 2019.

This would mean that every farm undergoing a health and performance review, would need to have certified evidence that:

  • an assessment of the Johne’s risk and status has been carried out on the farm in the last 12 months
  • there is a written Johne’s management plan in place that complies with the objectives of the NJMP
  • includes a declaration signed by the farmer and a BCVA Johne’s Certified Veterinary Adviser

In anticipation of this development, we have updated our Health Planner to include the NJMP-requirements. At the moment, the ‘clock’ will remain green as there is no statutory obligation for the two compliance objectives to be linked, but from 31 October, the date of the NJMP declaration will show within the health plan report.

In summary, for just £25 per farm per annum, you can put in place a comprehensive system to ease the completion of both the health and performance review and the NJMP and ensure that your clients remain compliant with the new regulations.

Additional benefits include:

  • Automated emails to both the vet and the farmer alerting you as to when Health Plans and NJMP reviews become due
  • Enhanced reporting including practice-wide due/overdue for Health Plans and NJMP
  • Dynamic, electronic templates with the ability to roll-forward those areas of the plans which remain unchanged from year-to-year
  • Remote electronic sign-off capabilities

In addition, we will soon be releasing an app to allow risk assessments to be completed on farms where no internet is available. Watch this space!
